Mentoring

Mentoring is a great way to understand and obtain assistance from others to help you progress in your career. Many mentoring relationships are focused on specific aspects of your progression such as settling into a new role, working through training and qualifications, career progression, or working through specific career challenges. Both mentors and mentees can benefit in different ways from mentoring relationships. CHEIA’s mentoring scheme gives you the chance to learn from the experiences of members outside of your team or organisation. There is more information below but to find out more please contact us contact@cheia.ac.uk.

From a professional point of view, participating in the mentoring scheme has given me the confidence and reassurance that I needed to progress the Internal Audit service at my institution, and it’s been invaluable to have my mentor as a sounding board when embarking on something new. It’s also been comforting to know that there is someone I can seek advice from on any audit matter. The CHEIA HIA network is also great for this purpose.

I’m so glad I took up the CHEIA mentoring opportunity and would highly recommend it to others that are either new to a Head of Internal Audit role, those new to the HE sector (at any level) and to audit trainees.
